Advocacy Officer
Location: Leith
Region: Nationwide
Contract: Fixed term for 2 years

The successful candidate will undertake species advocacy work for the Trust with a particular focus on Squirrels (Sciurus vulgaris and Sciurus carolinensis) and Eurasian Beavers (Castor fiber) and develop policy briefings to support this work.
Conservation Officer
Location: National Park Headquarters, Balloch – home-working possible
Region: Argyll & Trossachs
Contract: 21 hours per week (0.6FTE) until March 2024

The successful candidate will lead on the implementation of the Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels project across Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and parts of Stirling and Argyll, in accordance with the SSRS project plan to protect red squirrels in the Highland Line priority landscape and to inspire people to value their local red squirrels and wider natural heritage.
Monitoring & Control Officer – The Mearns
Location: Home based, location flexible near the Mearns
Region: North East
Contract: Full time, 35 hours per week

We are looking for a self-starter with a love of outdoor working, good interpersonal skills and experience of working with public, private landowners and volunteers, to fill a Monitoring and Control Officer post. The post will contribute to the project’s co-ordinated landscape-scale approach to reduce grey squirrel numbers in the target area of Mearns and East Angus, thus preventing grey squirrel dispersal into southern Aberdeenshire.
Seasonal Grey Squirrel Officer – Argyll and Trossachs
Location: Home-based. Location flexible within project area covering Loch-Lomond to Callandar, as well as Arrochar, Helensburgh, Dumbarton.

Contract: Full time, fixed term: 5 months (1 April 2022 – 31 August 2022)
Closing date: 18 March 2022
This role is to protect red squirrels in the Highland Line priority landscape across Argyll and Trossachs from replacement by grey squirrels and from squirrelpox disease.
Seasonal Grey Squirrel Officer – Dunkeld
Location: Home based, Location flexible within or near the River Tay and River Isla catchments (Dunkeld-Blairgowrie area)
Region: Tayside
Contract: 35 hours – Full Time, Fixed term (ASAP – 31 August 2022)
Closing date: 20 March 2022
The post will contribute to the project’s co-ordinated landscape-scale approach to reduce grey squirrel numbers in the target area of Dunkeld thus preventing grey squirrel dispersal into Dunkeld-Blairgowrie-Coupar-Angus area.
Seasonal Grey Squirrel Officer – East Angus
Location: Home based, East Angus area (i.e. Forfar/Montrose area)

Contract: 35 hours – Full Time, Fixed term (ASAP – 31 August 2022)

The post will contribute to the project’s co-ordinated landscape-scale approach to reduce grey squirrel numbers in the target area of East Angus, thus preventing grey squirrel dispersal into southern Aberdeenshire.

Location: Home based, Location flexible within or near the Blairgowrie-Coupar Angus to Forfar area.
Region: Tayside
Contract: 35 hours – Full Time, Fixed term (ASAP – 31 August 2022)

The post will contribute to the project’s co-ordinated landscape-scale approach to reduce grey squirrel numbers in the target area of Strathmore, thus preventing grey squirrel dispersal into southern Aberdeenshire.
